A most severe catastrophe, unlike anything we have witnessed in our region in the past, has struck us, leaving us deeply wounded. We find ourselves in a situation that appears surreal. We are enduring a ruthless assault that isunprecedented in the history of the State of Israel. Our circumstances are far from clear. More than 1,200 citizens and soldiers, innocent and blameless, have perished without mercy, solely because they were Jewish. Over 2,800 are wounded, with some in critical condition, and others facing dire hardships. More than 160 individuals are incarcerated, among them adults, women, children, and infants, with the number steadily rising.
In the midst of this terrible agony, during the exchanges of fire and missile attacks, while security forces and all involved parties strive to recover and understand what is happening and how to respond, a profound sense of chaos prevails. Thousands of citizens remain unaware of the fate of their loved ones, and thousands who fled their homes with only the clothes on their backs are uncertain about what the near future holds. Israel is embarking on a long-term war, and when it will end remains unknown.
The State of Israel found itself unprepared during this terrible unexpected assault, enlisting more than 400,000 reserve soldiers in one fell swoop. still now, it is not able to address the shortage of supplies and food, both for the soldiers and the families along the frontlines, our support as citizens of Israel is greatly needed.
The unity among us is astounding, and now is the time to demonstrate our uniqueness and mutual commitment to helping the people of Israel through these trying times in every way possible.
We urgently need significant quantities of military and humanitarian supplies, baby food, and toys for children, food packages, medicines, and clothing for the thousands of soldiers stationed in the conflict zone and the thousands of families who are huddled in bomb shelters and cannot leave their homes, turning to us for assistance. Additionally, we must secure lodging for hundreds of families from the fire-stricken areas who lack a safe haven.
The situation is exceedingly dire! Many trauma victims are in need of medical and psychological care, and children who have lost their parents or have been taken captive now depend on our support.
Furthermore, we receive incessant requests from soldiers asking for us to send them tzitzit and Mehudar Tefillin sets for spiritual protection, as they are deeply in need of it. We have indeed acquired thousands of tzitzit that have been distributed, but the need remains substantial. Many more tzitzit and tefillin sets are required.
It is important to note that all the suppliers we purchase from have volunteered to provide everything at cost, without profit, and all transportation and distribution are carried out by selfless volunteers who seek no recompense for their services, all for the sake of Israel's success. Our unity shields us, and together, we will triumph over all adversaries.
