This is an urgent appeal to help support, a special forces reserve unit who have been called up and has been serving on the front lines since October 7th. These brave soldiers continue to put themselves in harm’s way on the front as it moves forward, with their unit having sustained both fatalities and serious injuries in battle. It is our duty to support both them and their families as they so valiantly protect our Nation and our Homeland.
The two areas of most desperate need currently are:
Donations for the purchase of tactical supplies and equipment: much of the gear is being consumed or worn out during battle (protective tactical vests, helmets, boots & uniforms, advanced medical trauma kits, etc), and this is exacerbated by the fact that this reserve unit’s gear was many years old to begin with. Unfortunately, there is an imperfect national system in place to resupply soldiers’ gear, and – as you have undoubtedly seen by now – many units throughout the army have had to resort to making direct appeals to raise the funds to properly resupply themselves. This is one such worthy & urgent appeal.
Donations for basic support of the families: these soldiers (among many others) are primarily heads of household who have been away from their jobs and families for well over 5 weeks. When they get a few days to go home and see their families, they find a great deal of stress within their families due to financial difficulties. These are families that were living month-to-month to begin with, and now have the primary breadwinner not able to support until the army/government payments kick in at the 90-day mark. We are talking simply about paying the rent/mortgage and buying food.
The donated funds will be administered and overseen by a Rabbanit, a lawyer, and an accountant, all 3 of whom are parents of fighters in the unit. Your US tax-deductible donation will make a huge and direct impact. Please give generously at this critical time of need. Tizku L’Mitzvot, and may Hashem bless you together will all of Am Yisrael and its brave warriors.
