This is Rabbi Avraham Wolf, writing to you from Odessa once again.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the support you’ve given us so far. Unfortunately, we are still in a terrible situation. Besides for the war that's still going on with incessant shelling, and apart from the severe lack of food and other basics, there's a real emergency here due to electricity shortages. We are suffering here without heating. The elderly, women and children are facing life-threatening situations here in the frigid weather of -5 degrees. The communication lines are poor and the situation here is catastrophic. The elderly and sick have difficulty calling for help.
We desperately need a stockpile of food and other essentials, generators, alternative energy equipment, medical equipment and satellite communication equipment to help save lives. Everything involves high costs - hundreds of thousands of dollars. But without that, we are in real danger.
As the rabbi of the community, I stayed here despite the war and despite the danger in order to give encouragement and hope to the unfortunate and helpless who are here. I promised not to abandon them. I have gone through great difficulties living here during this time, but I am being faithful to my promise. We desperately need your help - we are collapsing and in a real life-threatening situation.
Please open your hearts and help us survive these dire times in the hope that this horrendous, unnecessary war will end as soon as possible.
Thank you so much for the time you’ve spent reading my message and for any assistance you are able to give. I wish you and your loved ones all the good in the world. Avraham Wolf
